In this project I wanted to discover way how to break a rules of usual chair. The Mono chair has got only two rear legs, the missing two front legs must be replaced by a person, who sits on it. The whole idea of this product is in the fact that the chair is an object that serves the man and is fully dependent on him. So, this chair can't work without a person. A person is thus required for the very chair to be complete. The chair is made of a single piece of bent aluminum sheet. When someone is sitting on this chair, their legs have to be bent at the knees at 90-degree angle. In this position the body weight is distributed and pressure on the legs is minimal.

HIX

HIX

Maarten Werbrouck
Howest, Kortrijk, Belgium
HIX is a modular stool for indoor and outdoor use. Its hexagonal shape allows several seats to be placed in interesting configurations. The stool is made with recycled PET strips, which are used for pallet-transport. When pallets are unpacked, the strips become waste. HIX uses this waste material as the base for its sitting surface. The frame is produced from high quality steel and finished with care for detail.

The seats are produced in Europe by workers who get a fair payment for their performance.

Flip Flop chair

Flip Flop chair

Final thesis preparation course design led mr. Debnár in the summer semester 2015.
Theme: From minimum to maximum (chair).

My chair using a new principe of decomposition. Flip flop chait match into small flat or garden party. After extensive research and direct technical problems, I concluded that chair will be made of wood and leather. Instead hinge I use a technical leather with a thickness of 1,5 mm, which can carry 120 kg. Leather has been affixed between two plywood, where it was milled groove for the skin, then milled excess material and make it chair functional.

"Honey I'm Home" - Entrance Hall Bench
This piece of furniture was made within the confines of Download Design Project (www.downloaddesign.hu), so it was important for me to follow the basics of OpenSource design.

My keywords for the designing proccess was:
- customizable
- easy to manufacture
- cheap but unique
- touching a wide range of user's group
- likeable and lovely

This entrance hall bench designed for youth just starting independent living, creating a metaphorical boundary between the external world and the inner space of the apartment. The purpose-built storage feature helps you “relieve you” of your bag, shoes and small items like wallets, keys, etc. With its flashy colors, quality materials, and the 60's redolent forms, it can easily be the most significant piece of furniture of the whole flat.

Besides the fact that it has a specious appearance, that is a totally functional stool. The bench include a bag holder part, a moving seat, a washable shoeholder part, and an antiscratch keyholder part made of rubber boards.

Trikiniki is seating element (chair) for children. The product is multi-purpose. It can be used as a chair when folded and as a seat pad when unfolded. Degradability allows easy storage, which will certainly appreciate the seasonal ski schools and water clubs.
I use advantage of foam materials such as: foam material isolates, it is waterproof and easy to clean.

Ordering and Furnitures

Ordering and Furnitures

Furniture Design Master Degree Project 2015
Conceptual Storage Furniture

Project name: Ordering and Furnitures
Furniture name: Arnold

The furniture type is a storage furniture. The designing method had a research about our living places in a home. I examined the furniture, self, and personal object trio. There are connections between these three part of our living place. I found places to find out and develop for a better connections between us and our personal objects. In furnitures I found sources of inspiration in history and in furniture design. My main line in designing is the personal customization in furniture design and I wanted to reflect to the emerging problems.
The organization and composition of the objects can affect to the personal feelings and behavior. It is a two sided process, because the mood of the person can affect to the order too. Usually a furniture is ergonomic for a weider mass, which can cause ergonomic problems. I mean under ergonomic problems not just the human ergonomic, but the ergonomic between the furnitures and the personal objects too. Our object has different colors, sizes and functions. There are furnitures to customize them, which have mainly modular solutions. In this part of furniture design I tried to do a more complex solution to fit better both to the personal and objective needs. My conceptual furniture is similar to the existing furnitures in the parts. It has different sizes for different functions and objects. The parts has different colors to recognize easier.
The furniture is stand from a basic part, which is the biggest. It can keep together all of the other, smaller parts. The parts can be placed to the sides and the back of the biggest box. They can placed in any direction and position. It is possible to place the smaller, colored parts to an into each other also. To connect the parts the only needs are the ropes. The nodes has an analogie from rock climber knotting precept. By bending the rope in more times on themselves that will constrict and hold. This connection is really strong but it’s easy to tie out. It doesn’t need any tool to connect the parts. There is a pattern from holes on the sides of every boxes. The pattern is functioanal and esthetic too.
The furniture is able for personal customization and variable. It is flexible so easy to fit in the houses properties and possibilities. Under the building process the person can become a creator and the furniture can become personal. In more place it is flexible by the time for example: age, family, living place.

I made a holding furniture, which goal is in personal customization. It is a problem nowdays furnitures can't follow dinamically the changeable mass of products. My conceptual furniture can conform both to the person and to the products also. The name of the furniture is Arnold and the process to make an own furniture is playful. The furniture doesn't need special tools. To connect the parts the only need is rope. The builder of the furniture becomes a creator and the furniture becomes personal.

Fuzzy

Fuzzy

Kortan Idrizoglu
Technická univerzita vo Zvolene

Celý príbeh od začiatku až po finálne riešenie prebehlo formou otázok a odpovedí, čím som dosiahol dokonalé riešenie problematiky budúcnosti. Kombinoval som rôzne dizajnové a umelecké disciplíny. Ďalším dôležitým prvkom bolo vytvoriť z tvrdého materiálu mäkký materiál a ešte k tomu dať mu rôzny vzhľad, tvar a funkciu, bez akéhokoľvek chemického procesu, ktorým by došlo k zmene jeho vlastností.

The whole story from the beginning to the final solution took the form of questions and answers, thus we come to the perfect solution for future issues. We combined different design and artistic disciplines, in terms of graphic solutions, there was an optical system, which stands for a different dimension and optical perception. Another important element was to create from a hard material a soft one and even to give it a different look, shape and function without any chemical process used which would lead to a change in its properties. Multi-functionality and technology have been used as another element with which we have achieved ergonomics, comfort and shape solutions which represent the future. We focused our attention on the usage of materials, economic benefits, transportation, typology, the type of person and a vision of the architecture of the future. It is an inspiration of finger tattoo “moustache”. Product name is “Fuzzy”, which means indefinite in English. Also “Fuzzy” in Slovakian language is moustache. That was an ironic solution to combine optical system and product lines.

Zachovala som pôvodné okná, dvere a podlahy. Do priestoru som umiestnila prvky typické pre ateliéry - stojany, stoly, dosky, rámy obrazov. Hlavnými doplkami v interiéri sú umelecké diela. Preto využívam neutrálne farby s výraznou žltou farbou, ktorá do priestoru vnáša sviežosť a energiu.

Rovas Arts Academy is situated on Kmeť street in Kosice. This old building belonged to one of the artist called Vojtech Loffler. He donated his old house to the city, but he asked them to keep art work there. At the moment there is an association of artists called Rovas. They use rooms for an arts workshops. Those workshops are suitable for professional but also for amateurish artists and students. My target group was these people who are participating for any of workshops. On the ground floor are public spaces and coffee shop. On the first floor are 4 rooms and one apartment. My main target was bring an art spirit in the studios, but at the same time make lovely, pleasant and clean public areas for relax. I kept original windows, doors and floors. I put to the space typical features for a studios. For example stands, tables, wood plates, picture frames. The main accessories in studio are works of art. For that i used neutral colors with strong yellow color. This color acts in interior very fresh and energetic.

Rekonštrukcia a adaptácia priestoru garáží na komerčné účely - kaviareň Zdravíčko

Nikoleta Rošková
STU v Bratislave, Fakulta architektúry

Zmes nábytku v interiéri zdanlivo pôsobí akoby z iného súdka, no spoločným menovateľom je čistota, sviežosť a elegancia. Štýlový dizajn je charakteristický farebnosťou, s nádychom prírodného luxusu. Vyváženosť priestoru začína pri bielych plochách, postupne prechádza cez drevené prvky a graduje vo farebných akcentoch. Prírodné materiály, pastelové farby a zeleň v kontraste s priestorom pôsobia prirodzene a s ľahkosťou navodzujú atmosféru relaxu s možnosťou odpútať návštevníkom myšlienky ďaleko od každodenných starostí.

A mixture of furniture in interior design appears to be from another keg, but the common denominator is purity, freshness and elegance. Stylish design is characterized by colors, with a touch of natural luxury. The balance of space begins with the white surface, sequentially through the wooden elements and culminates in a colorful accents. Natural materials, pastel colors and green space in contrast to act naturally evoke the atmosphere of ease and relaxation with the possibility of visitors to divert thoughts away from everyday worries.

Subject of semestral project: "Living with business".

Home - photo studio is located in "the living room" of the apartment. Studio is aimed at product and art ptohogrpahy, so it is possible to perform this activity from the comfort of home. Space of the studio is imaginarily separated by prefabricated concrete frame. Maisonette apartment looks bright and airy, thanks to the white color on the walls and the openness of space. This neutral color base is complemented by bold colors and daring combination of furnishing elements. The aim of the whole solution was comfortable linking work activities with housing.

Hlavným zámerom mojej práce bolo zariadiť jednotlivé miestnosti tohto zložitého architektonického komplexu, čo najjednoduchšie s nádychom minimalizmu a vzdušnosti.

These office spaces are designed for 8 - 10 members of the company Lightyears. They work together in a family atmosphere, which is reflected in the various rooms of the complex facilities. The main purpose of my work was to furnish the rooms of this architectural complex easiest way with a touch of minimalism and lightness.
The interior of each room is touched by a minimalist  style, with distinctive original brick walls and large glassed window areas that offer plenty of natural light. The floor is made up of wooden parquet (oak), or poured concrete. It is used in the showroom to highlight an older plaster on the walls.
The dominant feature of the building, in addition to unique atrium, is showroom in which are placed products of company Lightyears.
In addition to the interior lamps  which are attached to the wires hanging, exterior lamps are also presented, drawing attention to the background of the old walls of the building.
Individual lamps are placed on raised islands with installed objects, which complement  the specific lamp. The intention was to revive and add an interesting accent to the specific lamps. Outdoor lamps (HL POS T, L Primula BOL ARD) complement the plants, evocative exterior.

Celkový charakter interiéru možno definovať ako: čistý priestor znázorňujúci plynutie v tichu meditácie ..., keď človek prichádza k poznaniu a našiel svoje ja a už len ako voda plynie ... .

The philosophy of this project is based on the harmony of man and space, the merger of two diametrically opposed elements - water (as a symbol of passing and spontaneity) and building (as an object, which is symbolizing the static nature and majesty).
The whole process, from idea to the final view of the interior can be descibed by three words-WATER_MEDITATION_SENCE.
These three passwords carry within them the knowledge that spring is like a man who seeks the meaning of life ..., until it penetrates the surface, it has to overcome a lot of obstacles, as well as human, while finding his true self ... .
The whole character of the interior can be defined as: pure space showing the passage in silent of meditation ..., when a man is comming to knowledge and he found his self and he is flowing as water ... .

50 m2

50 m2

Jan Van hove

Skilpod is a fairly young company, placed in Geel, Limburg, that specializes in the development and production of modular living spaces. Until now, the exterior of these living spaces have been the company’s main focus, but recentely they’ve found themselves ready to take a step forward and design and delevop a fitting interior as well.
A few month’s ago, they bumped into a challenge, set up by the province of Vlaams-Brabant, to design and produce a complete living space that would be deployed as social housing. Perfect opportunity to start building a prototype that is completely ‘Skilpod-approved’, in and out.

During my internship, and with this dissertation, I’m looking for a housing interior to comply with the modular, ecological, transportable and design expectations of Skilpod.
Is it possible to design a complete interior for a 50 m2 home that fits present-day living needs? Taking account of durability, efficient transportation and efficient assemblation?
In addition I’ll be looking for the possibilities and benefits of using Skilpods as social accomodation. For this matter, I’ve researched The Venning, a social housing project in Kortrijk that came with it’s own ups-and-downs.

After months of designing and building, I end my internship concluding that it’s very much possible to provide a 50 m2 Skilpod with a livable interior, meeting all legal regulations and Skilpod’s own demands. With modular furniture, we can actually create space, making a small home seem roomy and luxurious.
I also conclude dat Skilpods are a perfect alternative for social housing. Add to that, they can offer a bundle of solutions to current problems concerning social accommodation.

Návrh interiéru dvoch vzorových typov domov je riešené minimalisticky, nevytvárajúc nadbytočnosť len naplnenie reálnych potrieb, a to v aktuálnej a vizuálne zaujímavej podobe. Projekt vytvára ekologicky uzavretú jednotku, ktorá neprodukuje odpad, využíva lokálne zdroje a prvky. Ľudovosť, tradícia a folklór sú tak eliminované do jednouchej marginálnej podoby vytvárajúcej slovenskú esenciu.

Základným cieľom bakalárskej práce bolo minimalistické vyjadrenie slovanstva resp. slovenského tradičného interiéru pre účely krátkodobého bývania v hlinených domoch z utláčanej, dusenej hliny v oblasti Záježová.

Prvá etapa pozostáva z prieskumu odbornej literatúry a rešerš k téme ľudové bývanie a architektúra. Príprava jedla, stolovanie, potreby úložného nábytku a potreby spánku. Druhým krokom v prvej etape je analýza urbanizmu vidieka, t. j. aké okolnosti tvarovali slovenský vidiek. Tretím krokom úvaha spomalenia a návratu k lokálnemu slow dizajnu. Posledným krokom v teoretickej časti je charakterizovanie hlinenej architektúry, získanie potrebných základných poznatkov, zdrojov a spracovania hliny a teórie nabíjanej architektúry.

Obsahuje jasné určenie cieľovej skupiny, charakteristiku miesta a typu stavby a vlastného navrhnutého riešenia interiéru.

Stop, slow down and take a breath – that´s the essential motto for life. An experimental clay settlement in Záježová (a small town in the South of central Slovakia) offers the possibility to live like this for a short amount of time and later, if real interest is shown, this can be used as a normal way of living and you can build your house yourself with help from professional supervisor. This idea is to carry the traditions of our ancestors. The houses are built traditionally with the stomped earth technique. The interior design of two model houses is minimalistic, thus it doesn´t produce superfluity. It only fills the real needs and that it does in very current and visually interesting image. The project creates an ecologically closed entity that doesn´t produce any waste and uses local sources and elements. The folklore and tradition are thus eliminated into a simple marginal visual that creates the Slovak essence.

Každý z navržených domů by v sobě měl odrážet odlišný princip vnímání ekologie, doplněný o analýzy a bilance jednotlivých, předem stanovených parametrů.

The aim of the project was to create an organic living on trees or in the trees. Due to the spatial possibilities of these objects, it was decided to create a total of three projects that will mirror different views on the concept of ecology of today. Each of the proposed houses should reflect a different perception of the principle of ecology, supplemented by analysis and the balance of each pre-defined parameters. The balancing projects are used as methods known spiderweb and its own balance table. All analyzes are intended to realistically assess the impact on the environment, but also the impact of the user objects within healthy microenvironment interior.

Vplyv historického architektonického priestoru na riešenie interiéru

Vplyv historického architektonického priestoru na riešenie interiéru

Jana (rod.

V prvom rade išlo o geometrickú štylizáciu vzorov modrotlače a taktiež využitie typickej modro-bielej farebnosti, čím sme dosiahli skĺbenie tradičného ľudového umenia s moderným dizajnom. Taktiež sme využili masívne železné a medené dekoračné prvky, ktoré podčiarkli banský pôvod daného mesta.

Our work is focused on transformation of historical architectural space into modern functional interior. In the selected chapters of this work we describe history of Banská Bystrica and specifically Dolná street, where is situated our object. Furthermore, we briefly introduce technique of blueprint, what is key part of the whole design. The goal of the work is to design interior of temporary accommodation (guesthouse) in the space of historical multifunctional building situated on Dolná street n. 6. There were few elements, which helped us to interconnect history with modern interior. First of all, it was geometrical stylization of blueprint patterns and also the usage of blue-white color palette. With this we have achieved the combination of traditional folk art with modern design. We also applied massive iron and copper decoration elements, which emphasized mining history of the town.

Aby objekt fungoval harmonicky boli vytvorené rôzne typy zón a ich prepojenie; rekonštrukčné a stavebné úpravy.

This thesis deals with design of residential container that is independent of environment in which it is situated. Main idea is to support young artists and companies. This container is situated in industrial building which has historical background. The main reason for the choice of the industrial building was to save before abandoning. With changes to the original function of this building is being created a new place with added value. Thesis continues to develop solutions concept of individual parts of the building for the development of creative industry and economics. Newly renovated building will be used as multifunctional space in the form of incubator. For the harmonic function of this object, there were created various zone types and their interconnecion; renovation and construcion adjustments.
